There is quite literally almost nothing that I can say today on the status of the pandemic because the information simply isn’t available. Public Ontario reports their weekly statistics on Fridays. Since yesterday was a statutory holiday, they didn’t report. This site also utilizes Public Health Canada’s viral incidence report, which was published but useless because due to some IT screwup, the dates being missing on all their records. Finally, the US Centers for Disease control reports only every other week, so their data hasn’t changed since last week.
The more independent Canadian COVID-19 Resource Canada did report, making their portion of our composite chart the only one which actually changed. Their estimates indicate continued very moderate improvement, which is consistent with new COVID infections levelling off as we approach the seasonal low. They now estimate that one in every 140 Ontarians is currently infected and hence infectious. That’s moderately better than their previous 1-in-112 estimate.
